			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>2011 was a good year for us</strong> here at RESPONSE! Due to your confidence and trust you placed in us to assist you with your marketing needs, our business grew. Thus we ran out of space and start looking for bigger and better premises.</p>
<p>When we embarked on our search for new premises I wanted to locate an exciting creative space while <strong>remaining focused on what is growing our business: our clients.</strong> We have always enjoyed an open door attitude where clients could drop in to talk to us about their marketing, find out about progress being made on their campaigns or just to bounce ideas around. The door was so open, in fact, many of you snuck up on us at our desks by coming in through the back door! Thus I knew it was important that when we embarked on this move that we must keep this open door atmosphere and welcoming environment because I value our relationships as the primary cause of our continued success.</p>
<p>At the same time I knew we wanted to be centrally located and connected to the Saint Louis business community. Let me explain: <span id="more-3746"></span></p>
<p>In 2011 we started providing marketing training around the Saint Louis area. Our partnership with <a href="http://www.responsetargetedmarketing.com/products-services/online-marketing/enewsletters/" title="Email Marketing">Constant Contact</a> has put us in front of small businesses like yours <strong>delivering training on email marketing and social media.</strong> With the ever changing landscape of promotion in the 21st century we understand there is a need to educate business owners and their staff on using the internet effectively in order to empower them with the marketing tools they need to expand their businesses and achieve their goals. Thus we not only extensively expanded our <a href="http://www.responsetargetedmarketing.com/products-services/online-marketing/" title="Online Marketing">online marketing portfolio of products and services</a> but we took on the additional responsibility to train owners and managers on navigating the big, wide, wonderful and confusing internet landscape.</p>
<p>In 2012 we are further extending our training services to delivering <a href="http://www.constantcontactstl.com/email-social-media-marketing-boot-camps/" title="Upcoming Marketing Boot Camps">marketing boot camps</a>. This is not just good news for our local clients within Missouri. For those of you located <strong>in other states we have plans to launch live online webinars plus tutorial videos</strong> to provide training to all our clients so look out for event announcements. </p>
<p>But to return to the subject of our upcoming move, when we went &#8220;office hunting&#8221; our relationships and our clients were foremost in our minds and I was not willing to compromise on this point. Which is how we came to find our new premises.</p>
<p>The new, bigger, better RESPONSE! offices will be located in the historic CF Blanke Building downtown (within the Purina Campus). Within walking distance of the baseball stadium and with a grand view of the arch, the Scottrade Center and the entire downtown district it is a creative space sure to encourage ideas and foster new campaigns and strategies.</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Downtown?&#8221;</em> you say, <em>&#8220;But what about parking? I don&#8217;t think I can visit you downtown!&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Never fear, the Blanke Building has free, on-site, secure visitor parking right outside the front door. The building is easily accessible from several freeways and we have mapped a number of alternate routes to skip the traffic on game days. </p>
<p>You will not believe the view which is why you will have to see it for yourself &#8211; as soon as we are moved in feel free to drop on by and enjoy a cup of coffee overlooking the City of Saint Louis, the magnificent Gateway to the West, while we work out strategies to get your business to the next level.</p>

<p>To get the year off to a great start we wanted to give you a few quick tips on how to increase Fans and Followers on Facebook and Twitter. </p>
<p>Some key things to remember are: </p>
<ul>
<li>Twitter and Facebook are used by people who are looking to connect with people and businesses that are interesting and to have &#8220;fun&#8221; while using the social networks. </li>
<li>You need to know your ideal (target) audience. What interests them? How are they engaging in Facebook and Twitter? </li>
<li>The social networks are a reflection of your business so don&#8217;t veer too far off course with your posts. For example: a car cleaning business shouldn&#8217;t share tips on how to floss one&#8217;s teeth but an update with a link to a local news report about how there was a car wash fundraiser that raised over $5000 for a local school would be relevant. </li>
<p><span id="more-3720"></span></p>
<li>Reply to Likes, Comments, Direct Messages, Tweets, etc. Good and bad, reply to all of them. Show people you are active. </li>
<li>Comment on other people&#8217;s and business&#8217;s Facebook Posts and Tweets. Going through and looking at posts and tweets that others are making will help you come up with ideas on what you can do too. </li>
</ul>
<h2>Facebook</h2>
<p>Post updates that are interesting and encourage a response. Such as: <em>&#8220;A number of our office staff&#8217;s #1 New Year&#8217;s resolution is to make more time for their families! What is yours?&#8221; </em></p>
<p>Don&#8217;t just talk about yourself. Talk about topics of interest that are external to your business. For example, a St. Louis based cleaning goods company posted a video of professional chef that showed a quick way to peel garlic. The comment even included something like &#8220;We know this isn&#8217;t about cleaning but this tip was too good to not share!&#8221; Some other recommendations are to post inspirational quotes, YouTube videos, links to interesting articles outside of your own <span class="domtooltips">blog<span class="domtooltips_tooltip" style="display: none">A blog, or weB LOG, refers to a web site or page featuring frequently updated, chronological entries (or posts), such as an online journal or public diary. Blog writers (sometimes known as bloggers) may create their blogs for personal or professional use, covering anything from day-to-day life events or politics to favorite foods, travel highlights, or other special interests.</span></span>. Include a comment as to why you think this is interesting, don&#8217;t just post something to your wall and expect people to take notice. </p>
<p>Post updates such as &#8220;Happy New Year!&#8221;, &#8220;Happy Holidays&#8221;, etc. These and all the other posts we mentioned above can be scheduled ahead of time using a tool such as <a href="http://hootsuite.com/" target="_blank">HootSuite</a> so you don&#8217;t need to spend your holidays, weekends and spare time making sure you are updating your social networks. </p>
<p>Post photos of your office and staff. If a customer brings in flowers or a card, post a photo or update to your social networks letting people know and thanking the customer. </p>
<p>Ask people to Like the page. Let customers know you are on Facebook by adding a link to your Facebook page in your email signatures. Print a poster for your reception area that says &#8220;Like us on Facebook&#8221; with a Facebook symbol. </p>
<h2>Twitter</h2>
<p>The same tips mentioned above applies to Twitter. You only have a 140 character count to create updates, whereas Facebook does not have this limit. You will find you sometimes have to get creative with how to shorten a Tweet. </p>
<p>Follow at least 100 people and companies with similar interests to yours and are your ideal audience. Continue to add more people to follow each week. People will start to follow you back which increases the exposure of your tweets.</p>
